Welcome to Creative Mindwork Hypnosis

As you peruse this website, you will find information that I hope will intrigue you and also give you hope that the solutions you are seeking are possible. So often we feel so much smaller than the problems and issues we are confronted with in our life, and resolution can feel so far away. It is my intention with the information I have presented here to show you that there is hope and that rapid personal transformation is possible. I have experienced it in my own life, and I have witnessed it in the lives of my clients.

My own journey with hypnotherapy started when I was in high school. I was a cellist, and I had my first experience with stage fright, which quite literally changed my relationship to cello and performing. I went from a very promising, gifted young student who had been performing easily and eagerly to one filled with terror and fear. And I started avoiding everything having to do with music because I didn’t have any tools to understand what was happening.

This started me on a quest to “fix my problem.” Somewhere in that quest I heard about hypnosis, and I started reading books about it. At that time much of it went over my head, but that didn’t stop me from trying to hypnotize my friends! So we would put on the groovy music, turn down the lights, and light the candles. We probably pulled out a Quija Board and Magic 8 Ball as well because it was all part of the mystique. We had no idea what we were doing, but it was definitely a lot of fun! But other than fun, not too much was accomplished as far as changing my fear.

Despite that miserable lack of success (although I did learn that “Donnie” really, truly did love me!), I continued being fascinated by hypnosis and the mind. This started my lifelong journey with exploring how the mind works as I tried to rid myself of this debilitating fear, which was now encroaching into other areas of my life. I was also experiencing my own forms of emotional devastation as my family went through a very traumatic time, and I was seeking answers and solace for many years after as I tried to put the pieces back together. I eventually worked with a professional hypnotherapist (wow, what a difference from what I was doing!), and was even more intrigued by the ability of the mind to heal itself.

I continued on this journey of self-discovery as I learned and practiced meditation, yoga, hypnosis, spiritual practices, and the study of Eastern philosophy. I incorporated these things into my life as I went on living it, and I have found them to be healing and grounding. In 1999 I decided to become a professional hypnotherapist myself, and I began incorporating all this “life” education into my work. I have continued since that time learning new techniques, always with the intention of facilitating more effective and rapid transformation for myself and my clients. It is in this spirit that I bring what I have learned to my work, and it is in this spirit that I offer to you what has helped me so much.

My Intention for You

It is my intention with this website to communicate to you how what I have learned may be of benefit to you. And it doesn’t matter whether you have a spiritual inclination or not. As you will learn from the website, there are powerful techniques that involve our higher self in the healing process. And there are powerful techniques that are not spiritually oriented. Creatively working with the mind can be done with any beliefs — spiritual, religious, or none — that you have. I have worked with people across the spectrum, and there is enough variety in this work to easily fit into anyone’s belief system. I think this is very important because my own beliefs have evolved throughout my life. I understand the need to be met where you are. It is you that matter with your personal, unique experiences and views of the world. I bring my broad range of skills and perspective to help you in the way that works best for you. This is YOUR journey of transformation, and it is my desire to accompany you and support you on that journey.

I have since learned that you don’t need the false mystique of a Ouija Board or Magic 8 Ball to do hypnosis and healing work. And I promise that, when you ask me questions, I won’t pull them out to find the answers. But I will do my best to help you find them within yourself. (And I do still think that candles and soft music can come in handy!)
